Hospital Clínico University of Chile and AC3E hold first innovation workshop to address healthcare challenges

With the goal of reflecting on how to transform real challenges within the hospital environment into concrete solutions that directly impact patients and their families, Hospital Clínico de la Universidad de Chile and AC3E held their first Innovation Workshop.

The event brought together basic and clinical researchers, managers, and decision-makers, who worked collaboratively to identify priority challenges, integrate and highlight key data, and generate innovative ideas to promote projects with national potential.

The activity was organized by the hospital’s Academic Directorate through OAIC and CICA, and is part of the agreement signed in 2024 between both institutions to develop projects and initiatives in teaching, innovation, and research.

During the opening of the event, AC3E Principal Investigator Matías Zañartu highlighted the value of this collaboration and stated:

“The idea is to bring the research carried out at universities closer to industry. For example, today I am joined not only by researchers, but also by project developers, engineers, business developers, and people from companies. It is an ecosystem that has continued to grow. We are very happy to bring projects under development with the Hospital into concrete action plans.”

During the workshop, teams participated in group work in which they were tasked with developing solutions to assigned challenges, encouraging exchange across different disciplines and perspectives.

The event concluded with positive outcomes and will continue with a second session that will take place at AC3E’s facilities in Valparaíso.
