Eduardo Bascur Escobar, a Master’s student at the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E), is currently undertaking an internship at the University of Seville. This internship, set to continue until the end of August this year, will focus his work on the field of Power Electronics.
This experience offers a significant opportunity for professional development and personal growth, given the challenges of being in another country. “Since I decided to study engineering, my goal was to get into UTFSM, both for its academic excellence and its history. Today, being on an internship at the University of Seville, I reaffirm that I made the right decision. The opportunities my university provided me, in terms of training, networking, and international projection, have been fundamental to me being here today,” the student mentioned.
His journey at AC3E began a few years ago when he completed his professional internship and then his master’s research. These experiences allowed him to gain a deep understanding of the Center’s work and its role in both academic training and its relationship with national and international industry. “This experience helped me strengthen my technical skills, my autonomy, and my ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. I am especially grateful to Professor Christian Rojas, an AC3E researcher, and Dr. Abraham Márquez, a researcher at the University of Seville, for the exchange opportunity they provided, as well as to the entire team at the center, whose experience and willingness to collaborate were key to my development,” the student highlighted.
For Dr. Christian Rojas, Eduardo’s professor, these types of initiatives are important because “there’s active collaboration between the Center’s Energy area and the University of Seville. Meanwhile, it’s important for students as they gain experience in research work with other internationally significant groups. This helps them understand their level of specialization and also open up future collaboration networks.”
For AC3E, international exchanges allow for the training of professionals with a broad vision. These individuals not only acquire new tools in their professional field but can also observe the needs of the environment from different perspectives. “This internship is not only an instance of technical learning but also a vital experience that will allow me to broaden my perspectives and strengthen my abilities to adapt to different contexts,” Eduardo Bascur concluded.
