The former government representative (Seremi) of Science for central Chile, María José Escobar, rejoined the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) of Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María as associate researcher, focused on the Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis research line.
Dr. Escobar left her AC3E position in November 2019 to become the first Seremi of Science of Valparaíso Region.
Finishing this stint, Dr. Escobar has committed to make available to the Center everything she has learned during these years, especially regarding her vision and focus on the impact of her work on the national technology industry.
Her outstanding experience in linking cutting-edge knowledge with the public, contributing to the scientific-technological relationship with the industrial sector and promoting interest in science, is strengthening female participation, one of the great challenges the Center set itself to confront to improve gender equity in science and technology.
