POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS AT AC3E (Call 2026)

The Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) encourages Postoctoral Researchers who are holding a current ANID’s postdoc grant/scholarship, to engage in the Center’s Applied Research initiatives and goals. According to ANID policies for Applied Research Centers CIA 2025, direct participation is permitted for postdoctoral researchers who have been awarded their own project or grant and whose research topic falls within the center’s research areas.

The Center’s research is organized into seven multidisciplinary lines: 1) Artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, 2) Biomedical signals and systems, 3) Computer vision and robotics, 4) Control and sensing technologies, 5) Smart electrical systems and converter-based technologies, 6) Internet of things and edge computing, and 7) Power electronics and energy storage. These lines contribute to three key areas of interdisciplinary applied research: A) smart industry for sustainable economic growth, B) energy transition technologies for mitigating climate change, and C) biomedical technologies for personalized, preventive, and accessible healthcare. We refer to these three application areas to Smart Industry, Energy Transition, and Healthcare Tech, respectively. This integrated framework enables AC3E to deliver innovative, practical solutions that advance Chilean industries and productive sectors, mitigating climate change, and improving societal well-being.

In cases where the postdoctoral researcher has its own FONDECYT Postdoctoral Project/ANID Postdoctoral Grant, the center will offer the postdoctoral researcher a contract for a minimum of five hours per week. Postdoctoral researchers in this situation may receive additional funding from the Center to cover operating costs, provided these expenses are aligned with the Center’s objectives (See CIA2005 Competition Rules).
As part of the renowned Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (USM), AC3E unites top-tier talent from seven additional Chilean universities, serving as a central hub of research excellence and innovation in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Our mission is to advance knowledge and technology development, cultivate skilled professionals, and stimulate innovation and technology transfer in sectors of societal and industrial relevance.

AC3E values diversity among those who join its team and has adopted a gender equity policy to warrant fairness in the recruitment process. We are particularly committed to reducing the underrepresentation of women in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and therefore women are strongly encouraged to apply. We are proud of having an inclusive and diverse work environment.
