USM academic joins AC3E’s Electrical Systems line

Dr. Andrés Mora joined the Electrical Systems research line of the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) as a research associate in April. The line researches hardware, firmware and software design for the control of power converters, develops tools for the planning, operation and control of electrical power systems and design of electricity markets and regulatory analysis.

Dr. Mora developed scientific skills at an early age. He holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María and a Ph.D. from Universidad de Chile. His focus is on the development and implementation of predictive control systems applied to power and energy systems.

He is an academic at the Department of Electrical Engineering, working on power electronics, electrical drives, and renewable energy systems. Dr. Mora has become part of a team that is having a scientific and technological impact on electrical engineering and electronics, which is undoubtedly a great motivation.
