Synopsys Chile manager invites students to develop national technology for the world

Nearly 100 students listened to the talk “Working at Synopsys Chile: Developing cutting edge technology in Latin America for the world,” which was given by Synopsys country manager and IEEE senior member Victor Grimblatt at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María.

The talk was supported by the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E), and its objective was to share with students of electrical engineering, electronic engineering and computer science, among others, the challenges of the 21st century and how technology can help face them.

“We are developing technology in Latin America for the world. With this, a future of possibilities opens up for us in a new world of innovation where chip and software and their intersection are key. A fundamental change is taking place in product development. Not only a revolution in materials or design, but a revolution of possibilities,” Grimblatt said.

Human Talent in Microelectronics

One messages for students was that Chileans tend to think of national products as bad or subpar. To correct the image, national technology and human talent are key to attract young people to the areas of electronics, circuit design and artificial intelligence, giving them the right tools and showing the possibilities local industry provides.
