On June 16, the Technical Conference of the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) was held at the USM’s main campus, in Valparaíso.
Among the Center’s most important activities, this year’s conference brought together over 130 researchers, staff, and students, who talked about their areas of impact, major projects, and received an update on recent accomplishments. The conference also facilitated research sharing, exchange of ideas and collaboration.
The group of senior researchers was pleasantly surprised by the call and the quality of the work presented by students.
Director Dr. Matías Zañartu opened the conference with a presentation, followed by a talk on “What is Science?” by Dr. Gabriel León, who researches cellular and molecular biology at Pontificia Universidad Católica and is a recognized science communicator with frequent appearances in the media.
During the afternoon, the traditional Poster Contest was held, where the jury, comprising researchers and staff members, selected the three best entries.
The winning paper was “Dynamics of the Brain State in Healthy Aging” by AC3E members Lucía Zepeda and Dr. Wael El Deredy.
