For the third time, Dr. Christian A. Rojas, researcher at the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AC3E, and academic at the Department of Electronics of the Federico Santa María Technical University, received the “Outstanding Reviewer Award 2023” granted by the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics (TPEL) journal for his outstanding work as a reviewer of publications in the field of power electronics. The first time was in 2017 and the second in 2021.
This distinction is awarded by TPEL to article reviewers who have made an outstanding contribution in terms of quantity and quality of reviews during the year, as a token of appreciation for their time and effort.
It is worth noting that this journal has an impact factor of 6.7, is Q1, and each year receives hundreds of manuscripts in the area of Power Electronics. These works expect to be evaluated fairly and effectively by expert volunteer reviewers previously selected by editors from academia and industry.
This recognition has been given since 2013, and since then, Dr. Rojas has been the only Chilean to receive it. “Peer review is fundamental to communicate and advance science. It is a way to distribute ideas and research results, where a robust review ensures maintaining high integrity of scientific work and recognizing the role of science in society. Also, as an editor of two international journals, I can indicate that the search for reviewers is an increasingly difficult task, due to a constant increase in the complexity and quantity of manuscripts received,” said the researcher.
Undoubtedly, this distinction is another example of the excellent scientific work carried out by researchers at AC3E and at the same time an impulse to continue with it. “It is an honor to receive this recognition, since it is a completely ad-honorem work, which I have developed actively since I started my doctorate in 2009 and has allowed me to know a bit of the frontier of science in power electronics,” concluded the academic.
