Eleven AC3E Researchers Ranked Among the Top 2% Most Cited Scientists Worldwide
Eleven researchers from the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AC3E, were recognized among the top 2% of most cited scientists globally, both throughout their entire career up to 2023 and those who achieved this impact during the last year, according to a ranking prepared by Stanford University, with data from the Elsevier publishing house, one of the most recognized worldwide, since it classifies the most influential researchers in the world in all areas of knowledge, according to various scientific indicators, such as: scientific production, H-index, citations and co-authorship positioning, among others.
These are the researchers José Rodríguez, Samir Kouro, Marcelo Pérez, Roberto Cárdenas, Marcelo Soto, Pablo Lezana, Fernando Auat Cheein, Sebastián Rivera, Christian Rojas and Cristián García, and the researcher Margarita Norambuena. The latter stand out for having reached this percentage of impact of their research throughout 2023, demonstrating the great potential of their scientific work.
“Being in the top of the Stanford ranking is a recognition of the quality work we do at the Center and a confirmation that our research and developments are of global interest and pioneers in our respective campuses. Belonging to this top is a great source of pride and motivates me to continue working with our students, and in projects with industry to contribute my bit to strengthen the development and Chilean industry,” highlighted researcher Margarita Norambuena, who is part of this select classification.
Having 11 researchers from the Center in one of the most complete and respected researcher rankings in the world is, without a doubt, a recognition of the excellence and world-class work carried out by AC3E, which has been widely recognized in its various national and international evaluations.
It is worth noting that this ranking considers the best researchers in their respective areas of knowledge and considers, among other metrics, the works most cited by other scientists to develop new knowledge. “Being on this list is a great motivation, since it indicates that the work done in conjunction with students, and the collaborations with multiple researchers have systematically enhanced the impact in the area of electrical and electronic engineering throughout these 15 years of experience,” highlighted researcher Christian Rojas, one of those recognized in this important ranking.
For his part, Samir Kouro, another of the researchers on this list, stated that results like these are a reflection not only of the culture of excellence in research that AC3E has promoted since its inception, but also of the policy of attracting and training new talents that it has promoted to form a world-class community. “It is very gratifying to see how a significant number of researchers from the center are included in this ranking, particularly 4 young researchers, which demonstrates that the Center’s talent attraction and training model is working,” concluded the academic.
