About AC3E

The Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) at the Federico Santa María Technical University is a research center whose mission is to create knowledge, train advanced human capital, and develop scientifically-based technological innovations. The world-class technology developed by AC3E contributes to increasing industry competitiveness, improving efficiency, economy, and process quality. Additionally, it enables the generation of value through the creation of products that have an impact on the market and on people’s quality of life.

What is the AC3E?

The AC3E is a leading research center in the field of electrical and electronic engineering, where academia, industry and society converge, generating collaborative relationships to address the challenges of the future through the development of various projects.

The Center is part of the tradition of excellence and leadership in engineering, science and technology that has characterized the UTFSM since its founding in 1931.

The AC3E research team is composed of scientists from 8 universities in the country: Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Concepción, Pontificia Universidad Católica, Universidad de Talca, Universidad de Valparaíso, Universidad de Los Andes, and Universidad San Sebastián.

History

The Advanced Center of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AC3E, born in 2014 with the award of the Third National Contest Basal Financing Research Partnership Program, PIA, the National Research and Development Agency, ANID.

The AC3E is composed of a multi and interdisciplinary research group that seeks to increase the competitiveness of the Chilean economy through scientific and technological innovation.
