AC3E Shares Scientific and Technological Capabilities with Businesspeople and Entrepreneurs from the V Region

The first day of the Transfiere Región Valparaíso 2024 event was successfully held on July 25th at Enjoy Viña del Mar, organized by the Chilean Chamber of Construction Valparaíso, ASIVA and the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Valparaíso. The Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AC3E, of the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María was present to share some of the projects they are carrying out with industry and their technological capabilities, with the more than 60 attendees, among whom were: businesspeople, executives, entrepreneurs, union leaders, academics and students.

One of the main objectives was to create a meeting point between representatives of the region’s private sector and entrepreneurship, with academia, to learn about new technologies and collaboration opportunities that contribute to the regional productive ecosystem. For this reason, AC3E, invited by the National Research and Development Agency, ANID, participated with a stand to showcase part of the work that researchers and engineers do in creating innovative and enabling technologies for the development of companies and projects such as: a prototype of a distributed acoustic sensor in optical fiber for monitoring and early detection of seismic movements and a forecasting system for events and/or health states of industrial equipment, among others.

“As an ANID Center, it is important to participate in this type of event, since it allows us not only to approach potential users and/or customers of the technologies, but also to promote the importance of collaboration with these research centers, the importance of technology transfer between academia and companies in the region and finally, to learn about the reality and progress of other national R&D centers and/or outstanding projects, generating feedback not only at the scientific/technological level, but also at the commercial and technical/administrative level,” highlighted AC3E’s R&D Business Developer, Javier Robledo.

In addition, the day included presentations by prominent professionals such as Raphael Bergoeing, economist, academic and international consultant, president of the National Productivity and Evaluation Commission; and Michel Compagnon, commercial engineer and businessman, general manager of Comberplast, founder of the Atando Cabos project and international leader in circular economy, who focused on Environmental Sustainability.
