AC3E researchers win IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine’s Best Paper award

Researchers from the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronics Engineering (AC3E) won the Best Paper 2022 award by IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine for their work entitled “Charging infrastructure for electric vehicles: from grid to battery.”

The six-member team was led by Sebastián Rivera, AC3E researcher and academic at Universidad de Los Andes’ Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Members included AC3E deputy director Dr. Samir Kouro and Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción researcher Ricardo Lizana.

Their award-winning article deals with electric vehicles charging infrastructure, with a focus on technologies and standards for fast charging, which are key to move toward greater penetration of electric vehicles. The authors prioritized data generation with graphic resources, developing highly informative images and tables, which allowed to reach a wider audience without losing the attention of specialists.

The team received the award at IECON2022, the annual conference of the Industrial Electronics Society, held in Brussels in October.
