On March 12th, the AI and Robotics research awards granted by TAS Hub were presented, recognizing the extraordinary achievements of researchers, leaders, and collaborators who drive innovation in reliable autonomous systems.
Among the scientists convened, the participation of a team formed by researchers from the AC3E Robotics research group, Dr. Fernando Auat Cheein and José Delpiano, along with Dr. Juan Pablo Vasconez and Dr. Stavros Vougioukas, stood out. They were finalists in the Best Research Paper (General) category for their outstanding work “Comparison of Convolutional Neural Networks in Fruit Detection and Counting: A Comprehensive Evaluation.” (See article)
“It is an honor to be a finalist for the 2025 AI and Robotics Research Awards in the Best Research Paper (general) category. This recognition of my work in AI for the agricultural sector is very important to me. The future of reliable autonomous systems is bright with such talented researchers and innovators in the field,” concluded Dr. Fernando Auat Cheein.
This project is a great contribution to the industry, providing results that can contribute to better decision-making in agricultural practices.
