The researcher from the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AC3E, and academic from the Department of Electrical Engineering at UTFSM, Dr. Margarita Norambuena, gave a talk at the Artequin Museum in Viña del Mar, as part of the Heritage Day celebrations held throughout the country on May 25th and 26th.
Her presentation was titled “Powering the Future: Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in Action” and aimed to “present the benefits and national projects within the 2050 decarbonization plan, in energy efficiency and renewable energies. Also show the global panorama and how Chile is positioned and working in that direction, and talk briefly about the technologies that have been developed and those that are in process,” mentioned the researcher.
The talk lasted about an hour and generated a very enriching environment for the audience, who showed great curiosity about the process of making our country a more sustainable place in terms of energy, about how new technologies work and the available potential.
Bringing science closer to society is very important for AC3E, as it allows to publicize the work done by scientists in Chile and inform people about processes that will have a great impact on their lives. “I liked the talk, an enjoyable conversation space was generated and a clear interest from the population who did not necessarily have technical knowledge of the areas presented but who had heard news or comments and it was very interesting,” concluded Dr. Norambuena.
