AC3E promotes science initiative in schools in the Valparaíso

With the aim of bringing science and society closer together, the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) of Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María invited members of the community to participate in the “Amazing Science for Curious Minds” initiative, which focuses on spreading knowledge about the impact of scientific and technological projects on people’s lives.

Several scientists presented their work to schoolchildren from the region and talked about their latest technological advances to encourage curiosity and a desire to learn more about science, especially in areas where electrical and electronic engineering can help meet the great challenges of the future.

Schoolchildren also took guided tours of the Center and could feel like scientists for a day, visiting labs where research is being conducted in fields like robotics, artificial intelligence, electromobility, and health technologies.

They also learned about topics of interest in their schools through entertaining talks with scientists on electronics and climate change, health technologies, renewable energy, among others, which will create spaces for dialogue.

AC3E has a nine-year track record of promoting the dissemination of science, which has great impact on society, especially on schoolchildren, who can learn first-hand about the scientific work based on electricity and electronics being done in the region. In the future, they can become the protagonists of the technological solutions that the country needs.
