Dr. Matías Zañartu, director of the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E), and academic at the Electronics Department of Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, became a member of the Health of the Future roundtable, created by the Future Congress and Foundation Encuentros del Futuro (FEF). The roundtable brings together more than 120 participants from the national ecosystem, specifically, deans of medical schools, rectors and scientists from the main national and regional universities, together with lawmakers, and private sector, civil society and patient group representatives.
Given his vast experience and knowledge in medicine and health technologies, Dr. Zañartu was invited to represent the university, specifically in the sub-area of Innovation and Digital Health, where health policies are being discussed. Key objectives will be to reflect on the health challenges Chile faces and generate a space were higher education institutions, public and private actors, and industry representatives articulate possible public policy, taking technology, e-health, artificial intelligence and genetics, among others, into account.
